Does God want you to be rich?

This Time mag. came out a few weeks ago and it asks
a great question, does God want you to be rich?
This is similar to the post I made about WWJD or What
would Jesus Drive?
Have we as American Christans gone too far on the spending?
What does scripture have to say about money?

Pastor Nonato made me think as well and I have come to the conclusion that the emphasis that most Americans place on money is not something that Jesus would like at all.
How much time do most Americans spend buying and selling and trying to roll with the bling bling? Too much. Compare that with Jesus, who came to the world poor in money and spent the majority of his time living simply and ministering to the poor and outcast?
I have a feeling that we will have to answer for the dispairity between those two ways of living someday and as Nate says, may God help us all at that point.

I also think that God has no problem with us being "rich"... as long as we're not GREEDY. I mean, I think its fine to have money, and spend some of it on yourself... i mean, who's not going to do that? but if you have a ton of money, I think God would be so, so happy if you used it to help others too.
